EDITORIAL BY MATTEO VOLPE, ELCA PRESIDENT After the biennium 2009-2010 that has seen the economic downturn to negatively impact our market, 2011 is a year of changes for ELCA and the lift component manufacturers: ELCA has changed its office and staff, coming closer to key EU decision makers in Brussels. Thanks to this change we enhanced our dialogue with DG Enterprise and launched cooperation with other European associations within our value chain. Lift component manufacturers have seen a changing trend in the European market, caught between the decline of new installations and big opportunities for modernizations and services. We moved ELCA’s technical priorities along the need to maintain a vital European Market as forefront for manufacturing and export and we continue to commit the maximum effort to represent the interest of small and medium sized companies. This edition is dedicated to ELCA’s top priorities for our industry and ELCA activities in 2011.
